Ranger Raptor lands in Europe

When you get a brief that says we need something to reveal a new extreme pickup, and all we know is it can ‘jump’, the mind goes to some fantastical places. Working with a team including ACD Josh Stika, Producer Greg Hobden and Director Nick Piper, we put together an epic piece of experience content that blended seamlessly into a hybrid event for media.

 
 

The original concept had the Raptor jumping out the back of a hovering Chinook Helicopter, but after consulting with the military, although it would fit, it would likely crash the chopper instantly…

 

So naturally jumping out the back of a Ukrainian cargo plane in mid-air was the next obvious choice.

 

and of course the storyboards had to be done like an action comic..

 

This was always designed to blend into a live physical and hybrid event. The end of the film sees cameras cut live to it driving into the aircraft hangar studio where it completes a series of donuts in front of the live VIP media audience.

 

Finding the balance and a creative hook to make hybrid events successful needs to be planned from the outset. Clients want reach from high quality content and depth through invited selected guests.
